VIVID ENTERTAINMENT WINS "ADULT FILM STUDIO OF THE YEAR" AWARD AT STOREROTICA CONVENTION AND TRADE SHOW IN LAS VEGAS

LAS VEGAS – (September 3, 2008) – Vivid Entertainment Group was chosen as "Adult Film Studio of the Year" during the recent StorErotica Convention and Trade Show at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas from August 24-27.

Vivid is the world's leading adult film company that is best known for its elite corps of adult actresses known as the Vivid Girls. The firm has won more AVN Awards (adult entertainment's "Oscar") than any other studio in the industry, has an archive of almost 2000 movies, and is recognized as the pioneer in taking the adult industry into the mainstream.



In accepting the award on behalf of Vivid, veteran adult store entrepreneur John Cornetta recalled, "Steven Hirsch and Bill Asher run a thriving Vivid today, but when Steven started the company 25 years ago, he had only borrowed money and tremendous determination."

Cornetta noted that Vivid "started by revolutionizing video box cover design with Vivid's very first movie the landmark 'Ginger' starring Ginger Lynn. Instead of the gritty and low-end look that had prevailed, the company's designs resembled sexy magazine covers. The idea was that that retailers would display them boldly, and they did. Vivid was inspired by the old Hollywood studio system to create the Vivid Girls concept whereby actresses would sign contracts to make movies exclusively for the studio.

This was only the beginning for this innovative company which is now at work on its third mainstream reality TV series "Deeper Throat" which will be seen on the Showtime cable network. In addition to its core line of movies starring the Vivid Girls, the studio has expanded with edgier Vivid-Alt movies headed by the founder of the alt-porn movement Eon McKai; with Vivid-Ed, entertaining sex education movies for today's generation run by award-winning author, lecturer and newspaper columnist Tristan Taormino and the release of tapes starring mainstream celebrities having sex such as Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee, Kim Kardashian and Jimi Hendrix.

Vivid competed with seven other top studios for the award at the convention which is the largest showcase for adult industry products and services. Other award categories included Accessory Manufacturer of the Year, Chain Retailer of the Year and Adult Manufacturer of the Year.
