ATLANTA, GA - Yesterday a controversial adult entertainment store in Johns Creek closed. The Love Shack has been entangled in a 2-year-long legal battle with the city to get a business license for its chosen location.
John Cornetta, head of Cornetta Enterprises which manages the Love Shack chain, claims he lost 40 to 60 thousand dollars a month because the city wouldn't let him put up a store sign. But he says it's not over til it's over:CORNETTA: It's gonna look like the city is the winner here, when, in fact, the city is not the winner. The winner is going to be when these cases are finalized and we see who has to pay these bills.
Cornetta is suing Johns Creek for $1.7 million in damages.
City manager John Kachmar only verified that the store appeared to have been closed, and in a written statement said the city would not comment further, because it anticipates Cornetta's lawsuit.
The store was opened in November 2006, shortly before Johns Creek incorporated and took over its own zoning functions.
